good music or bust...

Well it would've been if I actually went to work.

I posted about Boy Crisis earlier in their career and I wanted a personal update. The song I posted months ago wasn't even finished, but since then they've dropped a couple singles and are gaining a lot of popularity in the indie world.

I loved the summer feel of "Dressed to Digress," but in this one they're giving me a Sade [who, today, I read is making a comeback?!] vibe, which is completely out of left field for them.

And as @believeinjojo [we on Twitter, get with it] and I agreed, you can def. make a late night ride to the city with this one.

A messsss!!

This is why I make categories. Yes, this song goes against everything I believe in, and the only reason I listened to it in the first place was because of my love for Pharrell, but sometimes I don't feel like explaining myself. I like it! However I'm too embarrassed to post it on the GoodMusicPlayer. You have to click the link to enjoy lol

Sorry I'm late, better late than never? If no, then you can leave.

:) Thanks for staying lol. So the song that almost made me miss my stop today--Q-Tip "You" off of his most recent album
The Renaissance. Since he's a legend, the usual further discussion isn't necessary.

I had to put the new Clipse track on here. And Pharrell's on it...how could this not be great??

Seriously, this sh*t is the hottest thing I've heard from everyone involved in a while...most likely my summertime anthem.

The Clipse new album Till the Casket Drops is slated to drop in early September.

Glass Candy

Glass Candy sounds like Janet Jackson and Prince popped out an electro-pop baby. (Don't ask me who it came out of)

Or maybe Cindy Lauper and Madonna's 2nd cousin? But literally, every track they produce sounds different from the last. I love every single one, but judge for yourself.

This track is off their latest album, Deep Gems: A Collection of Single, B Sides, and Rarities

Just so we understand each other, this will be a daily category. Some of yal are slow...

I knew about this guy, Chip tha Ripper from his appearances on CuDi's mixtapes, and after hearing a track off of his own popular mixtape Can't Stop Me I wanted to hear more. Let's just say I'm officially a fan of Ohio...where ever that is.

It's not brand new, but this jawn still pops. The track is called "Can't Stop Me" and I'm noticing a trend with myself lately...it's all about that big, orchestrated sound, if that makes sense.

Listen on the GoodMusicPlayer or as always, the download is below.

...and I know yal are visiting to the site, so let me know what you think! (Meaning click the conversation bubble thing and leave a comment:)

This is hilarious because I have no business on here right now (Jojo), but...I promised. lol

So this is a new category I thought of on my commute this morning. Yesterday I told you that I got the new Mos Def album, and I really got a chance to listen to the whole thing today on my way to CBS. I'm calling this category "The 1" because I heard my inspiration on the 1 train [I know, real Jenny from the block of me...], and because I'll be posting my #1 song of the day.

"Roses" by Mos Def feat. Georgia Anne Muldrow was literally the perfect mellow tune to start my day. Georgia had me bout to cry at 9:30 AM! lol

For now, listen to it on the GoodMusicPlayer. I'll have a link up later.

*Update*

Here's the download link. Seriously, I know you'll like this, just listen.

I'M BACK! This is very exciting for me. I consider myself a veteran blogger now, and with Twitter I plan on taking this sh*t to the next level! lol So here's the T...music has hit some highs [CuDi is makin moves, his debut album finally drops in August] and some lows [Ron Brownz still out here] during my absence, and I've been listening the whole time. A few albums that have been in heavy rotation... Chester French - Love the Future Mother Mother - O My Heart [Not brand new, but new to me] Rick Ross - Deeper Than Rap [C.O. or not, he never disappoints] Kid Cudi - Dat Kid From Cleveland [latest...mixtape lol] And many, many more, but I'm ready to get back to the point. Mos Def is back on the music scene with his fourth album, The Ecstatic released yesterday. It's almost like he was waiting for me. We all know I'm partial towards The Neptunes, so I immediately gravitated to "Twilite Speedball" produced by Chad Hugo. Check that track out on the GoodMusicPlayer or download it here. As always, please support real music and buy the albums! [Of course I do...] ...and as for Susan Boyle? Absolutely not!
